Varieties of Traveling

Travel is the traveling of individuals between different remote geographical locations. Travel can be to a variety of destinations, either one way or round trip, by road, by car, by train, by boat, by plane or other modes and is one way or round-trip travel. There are many ways to travel – by air, sea, and land by motor vehicle. Today, with the advent of airplanes and cruise ships, air travel is often the most popular way to travel, especially for longer distances.

The travel of people by land is usually to reach one place and to return there. For example, if a man wants to travel from Washington, DC, to Boston, Massachusetts, he takes a train. The train may take several days, and at certain times it can even be risky traveling by train. It can take seven days to travel by train from New York to Boston. However, if the trip is of one day, then the trip is known as traveling around the town. Thus, the travel of people by road is called travel around.

On the other hand, the travel of people by water is also known as traveling by boat or air. Boat travel is of one type, whereas air travel is of another type, and there are sub-categories under these. While boats travel around the coast, air travel takes people from point A to point B, and then on to another point C. Thus, for the travel of persons around the globe, air travel is referred to as transcontinental travel. Therefore, the travel of a man from one place to another is termed as his journey.
