An Overview of Fashion

Fashion is an informal form of autonomy and self-awareness in a certain situation and at a certain time, of attire, footwear, accessories, hair style, makeup, clothing, and posture. The word also implies a style defined by the fashion market as what is fashionable at that time. As it is subjective in nature, it implies that what a person thinks is fashionable may be different from what others consider to be fashionable. However, it is a common characteristic of modern fashion that what is fashionable to one generation may be regarded as trashy or embarrassing the next.

With the advent of mass media and the increasing exposure to fashion worldwide, the definition of fashion itself has been transformed as well. In the past fashion was often associated with high fashion and elite circles. Now, anyone who can afford to buy the best clothes, accessories, and accessories is commonly seen as having high fashion, while the less affluent is labeled with low fashion.

This shift in the definition of fashion can also be attributed to the fast fashion movement, which dominates in most parts of the world. Fast fashion entails inexpensive and disposable articles of clothing that can be easily replaced. With the fast fashion movement, most clothing and accessories are designed to be easily and quickly worn. A new trend in men’s wear has emerged in response to this, with the wearing of designer shoes as a status symbol. Such trends have made access to fashion easier for ordinary people, thus increasing its acceptance even beyond the fashion show grounds.
