Fashion In Focus
“Fashion is anything that makes you feel good”. This is the famous mantra of any fashion conscious person. Fashion has the power to make or break you, it can either compliment you or demean you, depending on your approach and style. In a way, fashion is a subjective view of your dressing style, personality, personal preference and lifestyle at a certain time and occasion and in a certain context.
The word ‘fashion’ itself suggests a trend defined by the fashion industry when it comes to what clothes are worn and how these clothes should be worn. In simple words, the concept of fashion can be defined as the creative combination of aesthetics and utility. As such, clothes and their styles have a significant impact on the society. As in every sphere of life, what we wear also determines our social position and standing.
In the fast fashion world, clothes are designed, made and marketed with the sole aim of being worn as soon as possible. This results in a great deal of variety in styles, designs, colors and textures. This applies not only to women’s clothing but to men too. Many people claim that wearing fast fashion does not really make one fashionable, rather it is the fast-fashion style that is fashionable. Many high end department stores even sell items styled with such extreme innovations as zip tops, g-strings and the most recent rage, the ‘metro dress’.
